Event Information
During this three hour workshop, Textile Historian Carey Fleiner will introduce you to naelbinding: a stitching technique that dates back to the pre-historical period. We’ll start with a short history of the technique from the earliest evidence through to its survival into 19th and 20th century Scandinavia. Then we’ll have some hands-on experience as you learn how to do some of the basic stitches: basic loop, Coptic stitch, and York (Coppergate).
Needles and materials are incliuded in the cost of the workshop. No previous experience needed (of any texttile work).
In the unlikely event of our having to cancel a session, we will offer a full refund. Unfortunately tickets are otherwise non-refundable. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket to a friend if you cannot attend for any reason.
