Accessible History Walk – From Parks to Port Part 1

Event Information

This special accessible walk is designed for those who may be unable to join our other walking tours due to to accessibility challenges. The walk has been designed to be wheelchair accessible and will be led by qualified T-guide (trained to lead tours with people with learning difficulties) Katie Santos. It is an outdoor, flat, tour, which includes passing by gardens, fountains, murals and other features. We would like you to experience colour, smell, water and visual stimuli, whilst learning about the incredible history of the city.

The tour will start outside of the Central Art Gallery (SO14 7LP), by the fountain. The tour will take in stops 1 to 6, finishing at Mettricks Guildhall cafe, where there is an accessible toilet. Coffee at the end is not included, but if you wish to gather at the recommended café, Katie will be available for coffee and chat!

The walk will last about 60 minutes.

Carers do not have to pay for a ticket but must still book a free space. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are welcome as are children accompanied by adults. Please do inform us of any specific access or learning requirements so that Katie is able to best support you. If you have any questions please let us know at museums@southampton.gov.uk.

In the unlikely event of our having to cancel a session, we will offer a full refund. Unfortunately tickets are otherwise non-refundable. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket to a friend if you cannot attend for any reason.
