Event Information
Join Alastair Eales for an informal afternoon of art appreciation as we delve into the extraordinary influences that shaped Picasso’s artistic journey. From African masks that ignited his creative flame to the enchanting work of eccentric ‘outsider’ Henry Rousseau, we’ll unravel the rich tapestry of influences behind Picasso’s masterpieces. Discover how these diverse sources melded into his unique artistic vision, culminating in the emotionally charged and politically significant masterpiece Guernica.
This talk co-incides with the last day of Creative Connections which features Pete Codling’s The Kinship Drawing; a reimagining of Picasso’s Guernica.
These talks will last approximately an hour with time for questions along the way.
