Tour For All: Bevois and the Bargate Walking Tour

Tours for all are designed so that families and adults of all ages can enjoy the tour. Your guide will cater the tour to the participants on the tour. We recommend that the tours are suitable for people aged 6 and over.

Did you know Southampton had its own legendary founder, Sir Bevois of Hamtun?! In this special walking tour, join historian and guide Andy Skinner in exploring the fantastic story of Bevois that will also include a visit inside the incredible Bargate and other medieval vaults hidden in the city!

Please meet 10 minutes before the tour start time in St Michael’s Square. The tour will last approximately 90 minutes. Regrettably it is unsuitable for wheelchair users and those with mobility concerns. Please be aware that in adverse weather the tour may be cancelled or postponed at short notice.

Please bring a torch and wear suitable footwear.
