November 30 @ 14:00 - 15:00
30th November 2025 marks the 85th anniversary of one of the worst bombing raids on Southampton during the Second World War. Over the course of over 60 air raids the town was irrevocably altered as over 470 tons of bombs rained down upon it, damaging or destroying over 40,000 buildings. This anniversary talk by Dr Andy Russel will explore the devastating impact of the raids through some of the over 600 civilians in Southampton who paid the ultimate price.
Book Launch
In addition to the illustrated talk, copies of the brand new book Bloody but Unbowed – The Forgotten Victims of Southampton’s Blitz by Dr Andy Russel, Dr Richard Henry, Andy Skinner and Joanne Smith will be available for purchase at a discounted rate of £10.
