Ceramic Glazes with Amy Morris

May 18 @ 11:00 - 13:00

Event Information

Join New Forest ceramic artist Amy Morris to decorate and glaze pre-fired ceramic blanks inspired by the Tudor House garden. You will visit the gardens and then under Amy’s guidance use underglaze colours to enhance and decorate hanging decorations, small pots and bowls. Amy will then glaze fire the resulting pieces and deliver them back to Tudor House for collection within two weeks. No previous experience is required and all are welcome.

About the artist: Amy studied Art at the University of Exeter and specialised in ceramics. She then spent over 20 years as a primary school teacher and art coordinator in both UK and international schools. Most recently she has fulfilled her dream of becoming a freelance educator and delivers workshops to school groups, children and adults at St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery, Southampton City Art Gallery and SeaCity Museum. She also runs Pottery classes as well as producing her own hand build ceramics in her garden studio.

This session will last two hours. All materials are provided but you may wish to bring your own apron and sketchbook.
