Painting with Gouache for Beginners with Emma Morrissey: Exploring Impressionism and Surrealism
Saturday 17 October 2026
2pm - 5pm
Event Information
A great opportunity to discover processes of brush technique, layering & paint consistency using gouache paints as you work on a still life scene. Gouache is a unique water-based paint that combines the fluid blending of watercolour with the bold, solid coverage of acrylic and is very satisfying to use.
Working alongside Emma, with guidance and instruction on hand, we will take our inspiration from the artwork of John Armstrong – on display in the art gallery as part of the exhibition ‘Art Then’ to create your own still life using reference images
All materials provided and all welcome.
