Tuesday 15 April 2025 @ 7.30pm - 8.30pm
Join historian and museums’ learning officer Andy Skinner for a talk exploring a fascinating part of Southampton’s history. Each talk is designed to be fun, accessible, and rooted in the history and archaeology collections of the city.
Southampton and the story of the Titanic are tied by fate and tragedy. Over 500 people who gave a Southampton address perished when the RMS Titanic sank on 15th April 1912. This talk will tease out some of the strands of the story, including what life was like in 1912, a look at some of the buildings associated with the ship, and how the sinking affected the town in the days, years and centuries since.
