Tuesday 18 November 2025 @ 7.30pm - 8.30pm
Join historian and museums’ learning officer Andy Skinner for a talk exploring a fascinating part of Southampton’s history. Each talk is designed to be fun, accessible, and rooted in the history and archaeology collections of the city.
Historical sources tell us that marauding Vikings could be found in Southampton, but the archaeology has remained silent. This talk explores what was happening in Southampton during the age of King Alfred and the golden age of the men from the north.
