Event Information
This workshop is a fantastic introduction to wood carving, in the beautiful setting of Tudor House and Garden.
You will learn how to use an axe, a knife and a crook knife to shape a block of green wood. Led by professional sculptor and woodcarver Chris Cudlip, you will be guided through the step-by-step process of making an authentic Tudor soup spoon . All materials and tools are provided and no previous experience is necessary.
Chris Cudlip’s practice involves woodcarving, studio ceramics, brick installations, portrait sculpture, environmental art and interdisciplinary projects. His public artwork can be seen in parks, housing developments, libraries, schools, youth centres, universities and hospitals throughout the UK.
Please note, there will be a short break for lunch. You are welcome to bring something with you or eat at our cafe. Workshop participants receive a 10 percent discount in our cafe.
