To commemorate and celebrate 250 years since Jane Austen’s birth join us at SeaCity Museum for a day of illuminating and entertaining talks and performances about one of Hampshire’s most famous daughters, and the town she sometimes called home.
Enjoy sessions from historian Dr Cheryl Butler (A Popular Guide to Southampton Spa), actress Jane Glennie (Scandal Broth), expert Helen Howe (Jane Austen and Southampton), curator of Southampton’s local and maritime collection Dr Maria Newbery Jane Austen’s Southampton) and historian Andy Skinner (Southampton and the Napoleonic Wars).
In addition to the talks programme, delegates will also have the opportunity to visit the museum’s temporary exhibition A Very Respectable Company – Jane Austen and Her Southampton Circle.
The talks are scheduled to take place in the Art Gallery Lecture Theatre (SO14 7LY). Tea and coffee will be included, however lunch is not.
