7 November 2023 @ 11:00 - 12:30
Please note – This event was rescheduled from Thursday 19th October (due to inclement weather) to Tuesday 7th November.
Thinking Thursdays is a weekday initiative from Southampton City Council Cultural Services, exploring the rich history and heritage of the town. Each session is different, but it could be a talk, tour or something entirely different!
Join archaeologist Matt Garner for a brand new guided walk unpicking the origins of the medieval town of Southampton, Hamtun. Charting the story of Southampton from Viking attacks in the 9th century through to the arrival of the Normans, this special tour will explore one of the most fascinating periods of Southampton’s rich history.
The tour will last approximately 90 minutes and tickets are £8 per person.
Please meet in St Michael’s Square (outside Tudor House) a few minutes before the tour is due to start. Regrettably this tour is unsuitable for people with mobility concerns.
In the unlikely event of our having to cancel a session, we will offer a full refund. Unfortunately tickets are otherwise non-refundable. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket to a friend if you cannot attend for any reason.
