Weekday Wonderings is a weekday initiative from Southampton City Council Cultural Services, exploring the rich history and heritage of the town. Each session is different, but it could be a talk, tour or something entirely different! Look out for exciting activities on different weekdays!

What is there to learn about Titanic’s story?

One of the common problems in studying the ship’s history is the sheer volume of information, because the quality of that information vary so much. Many claims about the ship are either inaccurate or based on questionable evidence, but are repeated from one source to another. In this talk, covering various aspects of the ship and including little known anecdotes, Mark Chirnside explores some of those challenges and discusses some high profile misconceptions about the ship’s history.

Copies of some of Mark’s books, including his new publication Olympic & Titanic: Triumph and Disaster will be available for purchase at this talk. Entrance to SeaCity Museum is included on the day of this talk.
