Weekday Wonderings with Andy Skinner: A Walk Around St Denys

Tuesday 14 October 2025
11am - 12.30pm

Event Information

Weekday Wonderings is a weekday initiative from Southampton City Council Cultural Services, exploring the rich history and heritage of the town. Each session is different, but it could be a talk, tour or something entirely different! Look out for exciting activities on different weekdays!

Join a guided walk led by historian Andy Skinner investigating the storied past of one of Southampton’s most historic suburbs: St Denys. Discover where St Denys Priory was and why it was so important, who Cobden bridge is named after and have a peak inside the famous leaning tower of Southampton! The meeting point for this walk is at St Denys Church (SO17 2ND). The walk will last about 90 minutes. Sadly this tour is not suitable for people with mobility concerns.

Cancellations

In the unlikely event of our having to cancel a session, we will offer a full refund. Unfortunately tickets are otherwise non-refundable. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket to a friend if you cannot attend for any reason.
